Jessica Walsh works as a Legal Counsellor in the Refugee and Migrant Rights Programme (RMRP) in Johannesburg. She is working with LHR in partnership with the Canadian Bar Association’s Young Lawyers International Program.
Jessica has experience as a policy analyst and researcher on issues related to public health, human rights, ageing, international development, refugee law and aboriginal law. During law school, Jessica worked in a refugee law clinic and served as Senior Online Editor of the McGill Journal of Law and Health. Jessica articled with the Office of the Children’s Lawyer in Toronto and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2016.
Jessica holds BCL and LLB degrees from McGill University, an MA in Public Policy & Ageing from King’s College London (UK) and a BSocSc (Hons) in International Studies and Modern Languages from the University of Ottawa.
