The International Federation for Human Rights has taken a look at the presence of the death penalty in African countries, focusing on Zimbabwe. Despite no executions having been carried out in a decade, a number of prisoners in Zimbabwe remain on death row. Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights is hoping to abolish the death penalty as the country prepares its new Constitution.
