PRESS STATEMENT | Wayne Ncube Appointed as LHR National Director

Lawyers for Human Rights is delighted to announce the appointment of Wayne Ncube to the role of National Director of LHR from March of this year.

Wayne is a public interest litigator who has been with the organisation for the past 10 years. He began his career as an intern with LHR and has grown into his current roles as Strategic Litigation Programme Manager and acting Deputy Director.

In the course of his practice, Wayne has shown deep commitment to ensuring access to justice for society’s most vulnerable. He has led impact litigation for the organisation, contributed to building regional networks and community mobilisation efforts, and authored a number of publications on a range of social justice topics. He has also served on the boards of a number of public interest organisations, including Community Advice Offices of South Africa (CAOSA) and helped found, on behalf of LHR, the Right to Protest Network (R2P).

Wayne has a Masters of Law in Human Rights Advocacy and Litigation from the University of Witswaterand.
