Collins Khosa died after an altercation with the SANDF and the JMPD during the lockdown.
The Khosa judgment, which was handed down on the 15th of May, clarifies that law enforcement have to act within the bounds of the law even in a state of disaster and that they should be held accountable for their actions. It also provides a pathway to justice for Khosa’s family and people who may be in a similar position.
