Lawyers for Human Rights made this submission in response to The Department of Home Affairs call for comments on the White Paper on Citizenship, Immigration and Refugee Protection: Towards a complete overhaul of the migration system in South Africa in November 2023, with an invitation for interested parties to make written submissions by 19 January 2024. The deadline was subsequently extended to 31 January 2024.
